ISO was on hand to talk about what they are looking for when a department applies for Class 8.

The voting system is almost up. The FCC has received the proper letter that the repeater is an emergency services repeater.

Fire trucks are welcomed to be in the fair parade on 17 Sep 2007.

AR VFDA meeting will be held here 28 & 29 Sept. Steaks will be served at noon for $10 per plate.

The voting system was discussed and voted on. It was decided to buy the uplink system with an 8 port voting receiver. Dan will have the antennas checked before long.

Sold the white county tanker to Bussey-Sharman for $4,500. This money will be applied to the uplink.

A battery backup will be purchased to put on the repeater for electrical outages allowing time for someone to start the generator.

A call list will be given to neighbors for when there is a power outage.

The association was started in 1984 by Rocky Roberson, James Drake, Troy Anderson, and Mike Boyett. They started the organization so that all fire departments in the county could get together and buy a repeater and have pagers to respond to fires instead of having a phone list that was called when a fire was reported. They also wanted all fire departments on the same frequency. Almost 20 years later, we have 14 fire departments on the frequency and only one in the county that is not (it's municipal). The association is a passive organization that helps all fire departments become one and get things done. Our VHF repeater has the largest coverage area in South Arkansas, according to two radio services.
